Boston House - Leicester for Mark Group Ltd

Boston House is a 3 storey office block which the Mark Group took over in 2012. Following a very cold winter it was apparent that the existing Trane ducted system was inefficient and had control issues, meaning that due to a central control system failure some floors were cold and others were hot.

As Mark Groups Service and Maintenance contractor for HVAC services we designed a scheme to provide both heating and cooling simultaneously to each floor. For this we used a Toshiba Air to Air 3-pipe VRF heat recovery system. With 1 x 14HP outdoor unit per floor connecting to cassette type ceiling units in open plan and cellar offices.

Due to the nature and use of Boston House most works had to be carried out after business hours which fell between 8.30pm to 6.00am. This made the installation more challenging as we had to make sure all ceiling tiles were replaced and desks and carpets cleaned so that the employees were not aware of our presence. The installation was completed within 3 weeks including the weekends.

The system works very well and gives our client total independent control over each floor as well as individual controls in each cellar office over the open plan areas. The outdoor units are positioned with a purpose made compound which hides the units from view.

" Ventec had to install air-conditioning to our Boston House office in very unsociable hours due to the office being used as a call centre, yet all the works were completed without inconvenience to our staff and all in good time. "

Roecliff Manor - Woodhouse Eaves, Leicestershire

Roecliff Manor is a beautiful Grade 2 listed property with the sort after location of Woodhouse Eaves.

First owned by the Heygate family in the 1900's, in 1930 Captain Heygate died leaving the house empty until being purchased by Leicester City Council as a Convalescent Home for the treatment of sick children.

In 1973 the home was sold again as a nursing home and over the last 10 years the home has been left empty, leaving it open to the elements and thieves. Many of the original features such as the fire places, tiles, flooring and iron mongery have been removed or stolen.

Roecliffe Manor has now been bought by the CEO of Mark Group and is being lovingly restored once again into a family home. As well as modernisation the home will be complete with a leisure complex.

The manor will have the latest renewable energy system installed, such as ground source heat pumps, Air to water heat pumps for the pool, Air to Air heat pumps and heat recovery for the air conditioning and ventilations systems.

We are proud to be part of the restoration works, providing the latest Toshiba VRF 3-pipe heat recovery Air conditioning Units and Air to Air Recovery Ventilations Systems.

The project will last into Late 2014 so keep checking on our website for updates.

Bannatyne's Fitness Club - Leicester

The clubs Gym is currently serve by a Toshiba 3-pipe VRF system run on R22 Refrigeration.

One of these systems has major faults with the outdoor unit rendering it obsolete. As per the F gas Regulations R22 is banned from January 2015, therefore Bannatyne's have agreed to replace the system for a new R410a system.

As all the pipework is hidden with the ceiling voids and risers we have used Toshibas latest replacement technology and reused most of the services, 3 x Indoor units have been replaced with new, whilst the outdoor unit and control box have also been decommissioned and scrapped.

To do this we had to reclaim the existing R22 refrigeration and have taken this back to our suppliers to be destroyed, this is all in accordance with the F gas regulations.

All the scrap metal has been sent to recycling plants. The new system is now providing the Gym with much needed additional cooling.

Please keep checking our site for regular updates.

Apart from being approved installers of Toshiba, Panasonic, Daikin and Mitsubishi, Ventec Services Limited are also considered to be a leading installer of VRV / VRF systems including 2 and 3 pipe R410a units.
